Compass UOL is seeking a talented Senior Data Engineer with expertise in AWS to join our remote team. In this role, you will be responsible for building and maintaining robust data pipelines that integrate various data sources into our AWS cloud environment. You will collaborate with data scientists, analysts, and software engineers to ensure data is accessible, secure, and optimized for analytics and machine learning applications.

Key responsibilities include designing scalable ETL processes using AWS Glue and EMR, managing data storage in S3 and Redshift, and implementing real-time data streaming with Kinesis. You will also optimize data workflows for performance, ensure compliance with data governance standards, and contribute to the evolution of our data architecture.

As a senior member of the team, you will mentor junior engineers, lead technical discussions, and drive initiatives to improve data quality and reliability. • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field
• 5+ years of experience in data engineering, with at least 3 years focused on AWS services such as Glue, EMR, Redshift, and Lambda
• Proficiency in Python, SQL, and ETL processes; experience with Apache Spark or Airflow is a plus
• Strong knowledge of data warehousing, big data technologies, and cloud architecture best practices
• Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work collaboratively in a remote team setting
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines and infrastructure as code (Terraform or CloudFormation)
• Fluency in English and Portuguese
