Confluent is seeking a skilled FedRAMP Site Reliability Engineer to maintain and enhance the reliability, scalability, and security of our cloud infrastructure while ensuring compliance with federal standards. As a FedRAMP Site Reliability Engineer, you will play a critical role in ensuring our platform's high availability, security, and performance in environments serving U.S. federal agencies and partners. Reporting to the SRE Manager, you will collaborate with cross-functional teams to design, implement, and maintain resilient systems that adhere to stringent compliance frameworks.

Your day-to-day responsibilities will include monitoring system health, automating incident response, optimizing resource utilization, and conducting regular audits to maintain FedRAMP Moderate or High authorization levels. You will leverage cloud-native services to build scalable architectures, troubleshoot complex issues in production, and contribute to the evolution of our SRE practices.

This remote position based in Canada allows you to work from anywhere in the country while supporting a global customer base. • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
• 5+ years of experience in site reliability engineering, DevOps, or systems engineering roles.
• Deep knowledge of FedRAMP requirements and experience working with government-compliant cloud environments (e.g., AWS GovCloud, Azure Government).
• Proficiency in infrastructure as code tools like Terraform, Ansible, or CloudFormation.
• Strong experience with monitoring and observability tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, ELK stack, or similar.
• Expertise in containerization and orchestration technologies (Docker, Kubernetes).
• Solid understanding of networking, security best practices, and CI/CD pipelines.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
• Experience with Apache Kafka or real-time data streaming platforms is a plus.
• Must be eligible to work in Canada and able to handle sensitive information per compliance standards.
