Join a project with Motion Recruitment to help a client decompose their monolithic backend into a scalable microservices architecture. As a Node.js Microservices Developer, you will be responsible for designing and building individual services that handle specific business domains. This role requires experience with Node.js, containerization with Docker, and an understanding of asynchronous programming and message queues. You will play a key part in modernizing our client's infrastructure, improving scalability, and enabling faster development cycles. This is a challenging and rewarding long-term contract.

This is a contract opportunity to be a core contributor to a large-scale backend modernization project. You will be tasked with developing independent, loosely coupled microservices using Node.js and TypeScript. Your work will directly impact the performance, reliability, and scalability of the client's platform.

Responsibilities:

• Design, develop, and deploy Node.js-based microservices.
• Create clean, efficient, and maintainable RESTful or gRPC APIs for each service.
• Implement asynchronous communication patterns between services using message brokers like RabbitMQ or Kafka.
• Containerize services using Docker and work with orchestration tools like Kubernetes.
• Write unit and integration tests to ensure the reliability of each service.
• Collaborate with DevOps engineers to establish CI/CD pipelines for your services.
• Work with other developers to define service boundaries and API contracts.
• Monitor and troubleshoot services in production environments.

We are looking for a developer with a solid backend foundation and a specific interest in distributed systems. You should understand the principles of microservice architecture, including concepts like service discovery, fault tolerance, and distributed tracing. • 2-3 years of backend development experience, with a focus on Node.js.
