Northumberland Ferries is seeking a skilled Port Engineer to oversee the maintenance, operations, and improvements of our ferry terminals in Caribou, Nova Scotia. As a Port Engineer at Northumberland Ferries, you will play a critical role in maintaining and enhancing the infrastructure of our ferry ports, with a primary focus on the Caribou terminal. This position involves conducting regular inspections of docks, wharves, and related facilities to identify and address maintenance needs, ensuring compliance with all safety and regulatory standards. Your responsibilities will include developing and managing budgets for port maintenance initiatives, performing structural assessments using engineering principles, and troubleshooting issues related to marine structures exposed to harsh Atlantic weather conditions. Additionally, you will contribute to environmental sustainability efforts, such as reducing emissions from port operations and promoting eco-friendly practices. This remote-certified role allows flexibility in project-based work while requiring periodic on-site presence to oversee critical tasks.
