Forterra is seeking a talented State Estimation Engineer with expertise in GNSS/INS to develop cutting-edge algorithms for autonomous navigation systems. Join our innovative team to enhance precision positioning and state estimation technologies for real-world applications.
Forterra, a leader in autonomous systems and navigation technologies, is expanding its engineering team with a State Estimation Engineer focused on GNSS/INS integration. In this role, you will design, implement, and optimize state estimation algorithms that fuse data from Global Navigation Satellite Systems (GNSS) and Inertial Navigation Systems (INS) to deliver robust, accurate positioning solutions for unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs), ground robots, and other autonomous platforms.
Key responsibilities include developing advanced sensor fusion techniques, such as extended Kalman filters and multi-sensor data integration, to handle challenging environments like urban canyons or GPS-denied scenarios. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams, including software developers, hardware engineers, and systems architects, to integrate your algorithms into production systems, ensuring real-time performance and reliability.
The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced, research-oriented environment, leveraging mathematical modeling and simulation tools to innovate and validate estimation methods. This position offers the opportunity to contribute to groundbreaking projects that advance autonomy in defense, agriculture, and logistics sectors, all while working remotely with the support of Forterra's certified professional development program.
The employer recommends obtaining this certification to validate your skills and enhance your application.
Note: You can still apply for this position without the certification, but having it will make your profile stand out and may be required to move forward in the hiring process.
