Blume Global is undertaking a short-term project to refactor and modernize a set of UI components in our logistics platform. We need a developer with strong HTML and CSS fundamentals to ensure our components are responsive, accessible, and consistent with our design system. This hourly project is perfect for someone who excels at creating clean, semantic markup and pixel-perfect styling. A certification in HTML & CSS is required to ensure adherence to best practices from the start.

This project is focused on improving the quality and maintainability of our frontend codebase. You will be given a set of existing UI components built with a mix of technologies and be tasked with refactoring them to meet our current standards.

Project Scope:

• Audit a library of 15-20 existing UI components for issues related to responsiveness, accessibility (WCAG 2.1 AA), and code quality.
• Rewrite the HTML to be more semantic and structured.
• Refactor the CSS to use our BEM naming convention and modern CSS properties like Flexbox and Grid.
• Ensure all components are fully responsive and work across our target browsers (Chrome, Firefox, Safari, Edge).
• Test for and fix any cross-browser compatibility issues.
• Document the changes and updates made to each component.

This is a well-defined, short-term engagement ideal for a developer who is meticulous and has a strong foundation in core web technologies. You will work closely with one of our senior frontend engineers who will provide guidance and review your work. The goal is to complete this refactoring effort within the two-week timeframe, resulting in a cleaner, more robust component library.
